HARMAY’s first brick and mortar store is located in Shanghai, China, and designed by AIM Architecture. Known as an online cosmetic brand with more than 1 million users online, HARMAY wants to provide online and offline shopping experiences for its customers through this physical store and fortunately, the architectural firm was able to realize it.
Instead of making a total transformation for the physical store for HARMAY, AIM Architecture preferred to make an addition that looks complementing to the existing features of the building.
That being the case, the firm wanted to create a beautiful and visceral space to let people see what e-commerce looks like beyond their screen.
Adopting a warehouse design, HARMAY looks contrasting to the neighborhood area where cute shops and boutiques are located. It is such a great idea to make a distinctive impression that will draw people in.
The products are displayed on the ground floor. Across the product display area, there is a sales counter that will lead the customers to the packaging section and cashier.
Offer Behind the Scene Processes
The design of HARMAY reflects its core business. Not only that, the customers are also allowed to see the behind the scene of this online cosmetic brand.
Here is the first floor area where you can see an eclectic lounge space with a vintage rug and mismatching furniture. This particular space is used for new product launches or events.
This is also a space to sample HARMAY’s products.
Steel Spiral Staircase
On the ground floor, there is a steel spiral staircase that will lead you the first floor of the building.
