The terrace comes in a good design that can interact with all social spaces of the house. It can interact through the sliding door wall. Both of outside and inside spaces are merged, becoming a true identity for the house in this kind of tropical area.

This house takes 8,000 square foot for the total area. It looks much smaller when you see it from a distance. The house is integrated carefully into the great landscape around it. The landscape itself is full of 130 coast live oaks.

In addition to making the most of these trees, the architecture firm took sustainability into consideration. Therefore, all bricks were recycled from demolition and the wasted materials in the landfill were minimized.

During the day, sunlight baths the house, presenting new hues that change the rooms’ character. Also, the sunlight that reflects on the wall windows and overhead skylights animates the overall interior spaces.

With the new extension, the Jacks House can open itself to natural light and ventilation, providing a spacious open plan living and dining room. The kitchen was also renovated and rearranged to enhance its connection with the existing garden.

The interior of Bloomfield is very simple. The architect plays with some simple colors like gray, black, and white. The wood exposed can be seen rightly once you look up. The upper floor is designed with an elegant glass wall, makes it visible to be seen well.

All 8 villas are constructed with wood, except the windows frames on it. The buildings are also made from extruded grey aluminum on some parts, creating a contrast effect with the facade. The large wooden terrace can wrap each building nicely, it makes the villa looks larger than it seems.

The house exudes extremely simple and formally ‘traditionalist’ appearance projecting from the client’s childhood days.

The estate park has a strong connection with the outward-opening doors. The landscape consists of some different gardens with each use, character and also shrubs. There is also a classic garden with rhododendron, lawns, a wet wood, a vegetable garden, and a dry wood.

The layout for this villa consists of two main pavilions in an L-shaped arrangement. One pavilion houses a kitchen that opens up to the alfresco-type dining area and the living room. It was set in the west side and overlooks the garden and pool.

To create a lightness and dramatic juxtaposition, the firm went with horizontal planes in soft gray metal edging that floats above walls of glass and earth. At the gap between the walls, light spills inward. Drifting roof planes animate ethereal shadows throughout the stone floor.
