Bruggen de President or the Bridges of the President was constructed by Drost + van Veen Architecten. The architecture firm opted for the polder-outline of plots and waterway as an underlay for the terrain. Located in the middle of the business park, there is ‘The Presidentshof’ which is known as a collective park. The collective park infiltrates the rigid polder-outline and creates a contrast to its organic design.

Furthermore, the railing, foundation, and support are established as one continuous element. These design concepts have been applied for all the bridges in the Bruggen de President, resulting in rough looks relevant to the polder landscape.

The Twelve Bridges

The firm created 12 bridges for Bruggen de President. The bridges are divided into nine slow traffic bridges and three car bridges. These bridges were designed as one family of images in line with the shape and materialization.

There are four slow traffic bridges situated across the neighboring main canal. These four bridges use as the informal entrance of the area with a willful yet sober view.

Right through the park area, ‘De Presidentshof’ is intended for walking and cycling along the water.

The other eight bridges along with this park look like the links of a chain that connects the park atmosphere altogether and become one with ‘De Presidentshof’.
