CSU East Bay Student Services and Administration is designed based on an opportunity from California State University to create a new building and demolish the unsafe student services facility. This new big college landmark also becomes a gateway for the visitors to the campus. RMW works to determine the building bet siting and also design it.
Determining a placement to frame the entry quad to California State University is the first task of the design team. With the high-visibility location, this new building can take more than 100,000 square foot of an area with the dynamic and contemporary design.
The design elements that can be seen in this building are a cantilevered on the fourth floor in the dean’s office, aluminum panels with glass, and also an angled wall at the center of campus. Those elements are the main things to make a unique characteristic to the building design.
With a careful consideration of the interior and exterior design, this building has a site plan with a development that integrates with the environment of the existing campus itself. The architect also improves the vehicular and pedestrian access.
CSU East Bay Student Services and Administration will support the student services and also the state-of-the-art enrollment which is located on the lower floors. It also offers offices for more than 300 administrative staff on the upper floors of the building.
