Mexico City’s biggest design week is back, and this year it’s looking south. With Chile as Guest Country of Honor, the Middle East and North Africa as Guest Region, and a program built around the idea of “Perspectives of the Global South,” DWM26 feels less like a trade fair and more like a conversation between craft cultures. And yes, there’s a 1970s house to wander through.

Key Highlights
- Chile and MENA take the guest spots. Chile’s participation is backed by its culture and foreign affairs ministries and its embassy, while MENA designers join as this year’s Guest Region.
- Vision & Tradition at the Anthropology Museum. Mexican and Chilean designers co-created pieces with artisans from Yucatán, Chiapas, Michoacán, Chihuahua, and Jalisco, shown in the National Museum of Anthropology from October 8.
- Design House moves into a Fernando Jackson home. The 17th edition fills a ’70s-style residence on Paseo de las Palmas, with spaces by Ezequiel Farca, C Cúbica Arquitectos, Uribe Krayer, Arditti Arquitectos, and more.
- Dealers de Diseño adds a Bespoke Collection. Furniture, finishes, lighting, and art-objects are staged in real rooms inside Design House, and new larger-format pieces now anchor the spaces.
- Creative Immersions wraps a French exchange. Three years of residencies pairing French designers with Mexican artisans come together at Casa Ortega, October 6–25.
- PRINT returns for round two. Graphic design, illustration, and printed arts take over the White Box at G.56 Hub Creativo through October 31.
- Inédito stays open into the new year. It runs at Espacio CDMX, a 1964 building attributed to Félix Candela, from October 10 through January 10.
If you’re an architect or interior designer planning a CDMX trip, aim for opening week, when Diseño Contenido pops up in Lincoln Park on October 10 and 11 and participant events on the Design Tours calendar are in full swing. The big shows run well past October 11, though, so there’s no need to cram.

Entry is MXN 250 Monday through Thursday and MXN 300 Friday through Sunday, sold through Eventbrite. The house is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00, October 9 to November 1.
Which exhibitions are free to visit?
Vision & Tradition and PRINT both have free entry. Vision & Tradition is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 to 17:00.
