Diego López Fuster Arquitectura was appointed by a newlywed couple to makeover an apartment in Alicante, Spain. This couple asked the firm to renovate their new living place based on the color scheme from their wedding gift which is Hay’s geometric Kaleido trays. Due to that request, the makeover was revolved around the muted palette. To find out more about the renovation, check out the picture below!
Bright and Spacious Living Space
With the renovation, this Alicante apartment is considered as a bright and spacious living space. The walls were completely changed to a more muted palette with brightly colored niches which are similar to the palette used by Hay in the wedding gift.
Include in the renovation, the couple wanted an open plan concept where the living room, kitchen, and dining area are situated without any barriers covering each space.
The renovation was also intended to create distinct spaces for each room. Each room has its unique color and for the kitchen, it goes with a yellow niche.
This apartment uses a modular storage system that surrounds the colored accents. The modular storage is also able to build a sense of continuity from each section to another starting from the living area. What’s more, this type of storage will make sure that everything is organized and clutter-free.
Folding Glazed Partitions
A folding glazed partition is installed to separate a study room from the main area of this apartment. It offers some privacy and quietness that everyone needs when they deal with work stuff.
The Bedroom and Wardrobe
The bedroom contains a walk-in wardrobe which is situated on the adjacent longitudinal section of the apartment and the opposite of other spaces. There are two bedrooms in this apartment and both are provided with good ventilation and natural light.
Secluded Study Area
This is the look of the apartment’s study area. It is secluded with the glazed partitions to offer a sense of privacy and quietness. The windows in this space also offer natural light.
A Splash of Orange
When it comes to the living room area, a vibrant color like orange is chosen as the niche.
